Swan joins the hunt for ‘Lukeba’ to control the defense line

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba, but may face competition from a number of big clubs for the player.

Having sold Jarrell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £35million. The Reds have been searching for a new centre-back and the 22-year-old is one of the names on their radar. Lukeba has

impressed for both Lyon and Leipzig and has also been capped for the France senior team. According to French outlet ทางเข้า UFABET สำหรับสมาชิกใหม่ สมัครวันนี้ รับโบนัสฟรี, Bayern Munich and Spurs are also interested in him.

Although his release clause is believed to be £78m, Leipzig have reportedly unofficially agreed a lower fee.

However, his contract runs until 2029, so it is unlikely that he will be sold. And he has also been linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid. A

left-footed player, Lukeba is usually the left of a full-back. And can play in either a back three or a four. He has been compared to Josko Gvardiol, the former Leipzig defender who moved to Man City in 2023.

Liverpool, despite spending £169.5m on the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, need to plan ahead. Especially with Ibrahima Konaté, whose contract expires next year and talks over a new deal have yet to progress. Real Madrid

and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Konaté, which has made it more likely for Liverpool to look for alternatives.

In addition to Lukeba, Liverpool are also keeping an eye on Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, who the player himself is interested in.

But whether a deal can happen depends on Palace’s asking price, with Liverpool reportedly ready to offer around £30m, while Palace want £50m more.

They rejected a £65m bid from Newcastle last year, but Guehi now has just one year left on his contract, making a move more likely.
